What the terrorists want

Good article from Bruce Schneier, hat-tip, Hugh G.

(sample) : ''Much of our counterterrorist efforts are nothing more than security theater: ineffectual measures that look good. Forget the war on terror; the difficulty isn't killing or arresting the terrorists, it's finding them. Terrorism is a law enforcement problem, and needs to be treated as such...''

Dear Bridget,

Could you comment what your opinion is about the documentary 7/7 Ludicrous Diversion which was released earlier this month ?

Regards,
Tom

Tom,
This isn't Bridget's blog, go google Bridget Dunne.

She is a conspiracy theorist, so she'll probably enjoy the latest conspiracy theory video to which I believe you refer.

Until we have an independent inquiry, conspiracy theorists, apologists for mass-murderers,
deniers of the problem, refusing to engage with the pathological violence of Islamic extremist terror which does so much to damage the good name of a venerable religion, will continue to thrive. Which is a tragedy, for how can we defeat terror if paranoic false theories reign, and some people refuse to confront reality? Such nonsense helps to create an atmosphere of febrile speculation and perceived victimhood which is as bad as the racist fear of all Muslims as potential bombers: we must all work together to uphold calm, justice and reason.

Sadly, reason and calm has little place in the fundementalist mindset of the jihadist extremist, or the conspracy theorist, for both deny the truth of reality and refuse to engage with the problem,

-one murders, or justifies murder,
- one denies those who plan murder even exist.

A shame, a lie, and I will always point this out, since rationality is one of our greatest weapons against terrorism, and pathological denial of reality.
